Popcorn Bites: What to Expect when you're Expecting (2012) **spoilers**

Directed by: Kirk Jones

Starring: Matthew Morrison, Cameron Diaz, Jennifer Lopez (star studded cast)

Genre: Comedy, Drama, Romance

IMBD Summary: Inspired by the perennial New York Times bestseller of the same name, WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN YOU'RE EXPECTING is a hilarious and heartfelt big screen comedy about five couples whose intertwined lives are turned upside down by the challenges of impending parenthood. Over the moon about starting a family, TV fitness guru Jules and dance show star Evan find that their high-octane celebrity lives don't stand a chance against the surprise demands of pregnancy. Baby-crazy author and advocate Wendy gets a taste of her own militant mommy advice when pregnancy hormones ravage her body; while Wendy's husband, Gary, struggles not to be outdone by his competitive alpha-Dad, who's expecting twins with his much younger trophy wife, Skyler. Photographer Holly is prepared to travel the globe to adopt a child, but her husband Alex isn't so sure, and tries to quiet his panic by attending a "dudes" support group...

My rating: 7/10

My Comment: This movie was the perfect chick flick that I've been looking for. It was funny, sad and romantic. I love it when movies have a star studded cast. I loved the daddy gang it was a hilarious addition to the movie. My favourite character was JLO's, I am a huge fan of hers. Thanks for reading.

Fit Thursday- Brazil Butt Lift Review| Beachbody

I love this programme so much!

The programme has 5 separate workouts (Bum Bum, Cardio Axe, High and Tight, Tummy Tuck and Sculpt).

You do get a booklet with 4 week workout schedules according to your body type. There are 4 different schedules for Pear shape, Apple shape, Ruler shape and Combination. Personally I have completed this programme 3 times. First I did the Pear Shape, then I did the Combination schedule and the thrird time I did both of them. And each time I got amazing results, not really with weight loss but with how sexy my legs were starting to look.

Not much equipment is needed but what you do need is: ankle weights, booty band, exercise mat, dumbbells/resistance band. The music and the energy of the trainer and models is what makes this programme highly enjoyable. Even though its made for women you do feel the burn, the hardest workout to keep up with was Bum Bum.

You'd be amazed at how many exercises there are for your booty. This programme is definitly my go-to programme when I'm getting ready for summer.

Popcorn Bites: Breaking Dawn Part 2 (2012) ** Spoilers**

Directed by: Bill Condon

Starring: Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattison, Taylor Lautner

Genre: Adventure, Drama, Fantasy

IMBD Synopsis: Bella is enjoying her new life and new powers, after the birth of their daughter, Renesmee. Soon, however, their family bliss is threatened again, by a new menace. Vampire Irina believes a child like Renesmee could challenge the power and existence of the Volturi. As Irina rallies the Volturi to destroy this potential threat, Bella and the Cullens - together with any allies they can assemble - are preparing to fight a crucial, ultimate battle, to protect their family.

My Rating: 6/10

My Comment: To be honest, I am so glad that the twilight movies are over. I enjoyed the books so much but there was something about the movies that ruined it for me, and I never liked how Kristen Stewart portrayed Bella. In this movie it started out so boring for me, my friends and I were actually starting to fall asleep. There were two things that I actually did like about the movie. The first one was the girl they cast for Renesmee (Mackenzie Foy), she did an amazing job. Second was the twist in the end, I do not remember that fight in the books. I actually thought it was real and that Carlisle did die. When they showed that it was actually what would've happened if they tried to kill Renesmee, I breathed a sigh of relief.

Popcorn Bites: To have and have not (1944) :) No Spoilers :)

Through all this runs the stormy relationship between Morgan and Marie "Slim" Browning, a resistance sympathizer and the sassy singer in the club where Morgan spends most of his days.
My Rating: 7/10
My Comment: I have so much respect for Humphrey Bogart's movies. He always has attractive co-stars, he is always in these romantic/travel movies. I really enjoyed watching this movie. It was beautiful written and it was based on a Hemingway novel. For those of you who don't know who Hemingway is he an American writer best known for "A farewell to arms" (which I should be reading soon). This movie was a perfect raining day movie. Thanks for reading :)

  • Cut an apple into pieces and add it to the dry oats.
  • Add 150ml of water or more if you like your oats runny

  • Once done, top off with cinnamon

2. Sweet Delight

3. Blueberry Protein Oatmeal
  • Measure out 100ml of dry oats

Popcorn Bites: The Cabin in the Woods (2011) **Spoilers**

Directed by: Drew Goddard

Starring: Kristen Connolly, Chris Hemsworth and Anna Hutchison

Genre: Horror, Mystery, Thriller

IMBD Synopsis: Five teenagers head off for a weekend at a secluded cabin in the woods. They arrive to find they are quite isolated with no means of communicating with the outside world. When the cellar door flings itself open, they of course go down to investigate. They find an odd assortment of relics and curios but when one of the women, Dana, reads from a book she awakens a family of deadly zombie killers. There's far more going on however than meets the eye as the five campers are all under observation.

My Rating: 3/10

My Comment: What a strange movie! I didn't know what to expect. And it actually started out great but then it started getting weird. I didn't understand the movie. Have those of you who have seen it, understand it? It started off with Zombies and then it turns out that the government -cult thingy was keeping a whole lot more creatures. I don't know. Then there is a hippy stoner guy who is like the second guy that dies but later on he came back to life. If they explained more in the beginning then I might have had a slightly different opinion. One thing was that it did do its job as a horror and did freak me out. Thanks for reading.

Jeff Dunham: Minding the Monsters (2012) *Minor Spoilers*

Directed by: Manny Rodriguez

Starring: Jeff Dunham

Genre: Stand-up Comedy

IMBD Synopsis: ''Jeff Dunham's Minding the Monsters brings together your favorites-- Walter, Peanut, Bubba J, Jose Jalapeno... On a Steek!, and Achmed the Dead Terrorist as you've never seen them before! Enter the ultimate haunted house where Walter transforms into something grumpier than he already is! Watch Bubba J rise from the dead! Meet Peanut's alter ego, The Purple Avenger of the Night, and his spicy sidekick! And witness Achmed literally dressed to kill in an outfit that would terrify the most terrifying terrorist!"

My Rating: 9/10

My Comment: For those of you who aren't familiar with Jeff Dunham, then crawl out from under that rock where you have been hiding, get onto YouTube and prepare to be amazed. Jeff Dunham is a ventriloquist with witty characters having their own catch phrases that you'll be quoting the rest of your lives. Each character has their own separate look and personality. Although these characters are lovable, they can somewhat be inappropriate, therefore it is not suitable for young kids and for people that don't get that sense of humour. Watch this movie with friends and family and you'll be having a ball. Enjoy your day

Starring: Channing Tatum, Alex Pettyfer, Matthew McConaughey

Genre: Biography, Comedy, Drama

IMBD Synopsis: Mike, an experienced stripper, takes a younger performer called The Kid under his wing and schools him in the arts of partying, picking up women, and making easy money.

My rating: 6/10

My comment: Hot guys. Check. Semi Naked hot guys. Check. Channing Tatum's bum. Check. This movie is so sexy. And who can pass up the opportunity to see three of the sexiest men alive strip off their clothes again and again :P. Ok on a more serious note, though I didn't really get the story line. It was slow and didn't really make a lot of sense. Enjoy this movie with your friends ;). Enjoy your day x

Popcorn Bites: Project X (2012) :) No Spoilers:)

Directed by: Nima Nourizadeh

Starring: Thomas Mann, Oliver Cooper and Jonathan Daniel Brown

Genre: Comedy

IMBD synopsis: Three seemingly anonymous high school seniors attempt to finally make a name for themselves. Their idea is innocent enough - let's throw a party that no one will forget, and have a camera there, to document history in the making. But nothing could prepare them for this party. Word spreads quickly as dreams are ruined, records are blemished and legends are born.

My Rating: 4/10

My Comment: This movie was definitely a strange one, and I actually never knew there was a movie about it. Ok, here is the whole story on how I stumbled on it.  My friend was telling me about a party that was going on called Project X and she asked me if I wanted to go with, I said no because it was far and I had personal things to do at home. Instead I googled it and found out that there was a movie online. I didn't actually watch it until recently. I must say that it was rough! While I watched the movie with my friend she kept on saying "That happened in real life'' and all I was thinking was "Thank goodness I wasnt there''. Those types of parties are too rough. I love a good party but if it starts getting too hectic then I go home. Yes some parts were funny but I really did not like it. Thanks for reading x

Book Club Tuesdays: Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins *Spoilers*

"Anna can't wait for her senior year in Atlanta, where she has a good job, a loyal best friend, and a crush on the verge of becoming more. So she's not too thrilled when her father unexpectedly ships her off to boarding school in Paris- until she meets Etienne St. Clair, the perfect boy. The only problem? He's taken, and Anna might be, too, if anything comes of her crush back home. Will a year of romantic near-misses end the French kiss that Anna awaits?''

My Rating: 9.5/10

My Comment: I loved this book times a billion. Ok maybe I'm being a little bit biased because I am obsessed with Paris. I must be honest with you that I did take long to read this book but that was only because I didn't want it to end :P. The only thing that irritated me about this book was that she was so reluctant to go to Paris. I mean, come on! It's frikken Paris for crying out loud!! Anyways I loved the build up to the ending, makes me wish that I had a St Clair, anyways back to reality... This is the perfect read for summer or even winter. Enjoy your day x

Forks over knives (2011) *Spoilers*

Directed by: Lee Fulkerson

Starring: Joey Aucoin, Neal Barnard and Gene Baur

Genre:  Documentary

IMBD Synopsis: ''What has happened to us? Despite the most advanced medical technology in the world, we are sicker than ever by nearly every measure. Cases of diabetes are exploding, especially amongst our younger population. About half of us are taking at least one prescription drug and major medical operations have become routine. Heart disease, cancer and stroke are the country's three leading causes of death, even though billions are spent each year to "battle" these very conditions. Millions suffer from a host of other degenerative diseases. Could it be there's a single solution to all of these problems? A solution so comprehensive, but so utterly straightforward, that it's mind-boggling that more of us haven't taken it seriously? FORKS OVER KNIVES examines the profound claim that most, if not all, of the so-called "diseases of affluence" that afflict us can be controlled...''

My rating: 8/10

My Comment: I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. I am a vegetarian and have been one for a year and a couple of months. I am not trying to push my beliefs onto anyone and if you are not a vegetarian, I would suggest eating organic meat. The movie is basically about how more and more processed food is being developed and the tastier the food, the more we eat it. The film is a study about how unhealthy meat and dairy products are getting and how nowadays they are linked to cancer. The movie also teaches us how to read labels correctly. For example and 100g tub of yoghurt says ''low fat'' but when you look at the ingredients and the nutritional information, it's basically sugar. We need to be kind to our bodies, and ask yourself this question: "Would I rather eat a chocolate bar and feel good now and guilty tomorrow, or eat a piece of fruit and feel good for a lifetime with no guilt''. A healthy diet should be 80% organic and 20% what you want. Enjoy your day

IMBD Synopsis: In pre-revolutionary Russia, a poor Jewish peasant must contend with marrying off his three daughters while antisemitic sentiment threatens his home.

My Comment: I don't have much to say about this movie other than the fact that I loved the songs, and love the writing because it was a good story. Sorry for the short review today. Enjoy your day :)

Love, Heather

Annie's life is a mess. But when she finds out her lifetime best friend is engaged, she simply must serve as Lillian's maid of honor. Though lovelorn and broke, Annie bluffs her way through the expensive and bizarre rituals. With one chance to get it perfect, she'll show Lillian and her bridesmaids just how far you'll go for someone you love.''

My rating: 6/10

My Comment: To be honest with you guys, when I watched this movie for the first time I didn't like it. That's mainly because I was expecting something totally different. And the part where everybody gets food poisoning in the bridal store really grossed me out. I found this movie similar to The Hangover but the female version. The second time I watched it, it was with a friend and I enjoyed it more since I knew what was to be expected. I loved Melissa McCarthy's performance in the movie though and one of my favourite parts of the movie was the plane scene. When you watch this movie, watch it with one of your best girl friends and get a huge bowl of popcorn ready. Enjoy your day x

A hard day's night (1964) :) No Spoilers :)

Directed by: Richard Lester

Starring: Paul McCartney, John Lennon, George Harrison, Ringo Starr

Genre: Comedy, Musical

IMBD Synopsis: ''The Beatles--the world's most famous rock and roll band--travel from their home town of Liverpool to London to perform in a television broadcast. Along the way they must rescue Paul's unconventional grandfather from various misadventures and drummer Ringo goes missing just before the crucial concert."

My rating: 7.5/10

My Comment: Many people that know me, know that I am a huge Beatles fan. Some people even call me an ''old soul'' but instead of it insulting me, I see it as a compliment. I just love the 50's, 60's and 80's those three decades (in my opinion) where the best times for music and movies. Nowadays we have computers that do everything for us where as in the older days they had to work ten times harder. What I suggest to you guys is to watch at least one old movie a month before the 21st century. Trust me, your life will change. Anyways enough rambling and back to the movie, I loved the humour of the film, Ringo was by far the funniest of the group. I also really enjoyed the soundtrack but then again that's just me being biased since I love The Beatles. Definitely give this movie a chance even if old music and movies aren't your thing. Enjoy your day, afternoon or night :)

Apologies, update and new schedule (Heather)

Ok, first of all I want to start off by saying that I am really sorry for Imani and I not blogging a while. Things have just been crazy with exams. Since I am done, I will be carrying on. Please be patient with Imani's blogs though since she is still going to be a while longer since she is writing matric finals.

I have just completed my Early Childhood Development certificate and hopefully I will be able to start with my degree in a year's time.

I would also like to mention that I will be posting things a little differently from my side. As most of you who have been following would have noticed that I do book reviews on Tuesdays, Fitness posts on Thursdays and movie reviews and Saturdays. But from now on it is going to be: Tuesdays will still be book reviews, Thursdays will still be fitness but Saturdays will be Recipes and daily I will post movie reviews because there is so many that I want to share with you guys.

Thank you so much for your patience and understanding.

Love,
Heather McIntosh
